Beth Clark

Tell us a little about yourself.

I'm married, (22 years March 17th!), with 4 children. The older two are grown and gone but of the younger two, one is still home and the other lives in a Developmental Facility.

How did you hear about Impact Central Illinois?

I heard about Impact through other nonprofit organizations that have applied for grants.

When and how did you first become involved in philanthropy?

I have been actively involved in my community through my advocacy work with low-income families and residents of Public Housing and Section-8 for over 25 years.

What is a charitable non-profit that has left a mark in your life? (In any way, i.e. whether you were a benefactor, a beneficiary, or a volunteer)

The National Low Income Housing Coalition and Southside Community Center. Both of these agencies are dedicated to serving the poorest of the poor.

Who inspires you to be generous?

The love of Christ compels me to serve the least of these!

What do you love about Central Illinois?

I love that we are not too big or too small.

What is your word of wisdom to someone who wants to make a difference in their community?

You don't have to be wealthy to make a difference in your community. Money does help of course, but building relationships, being a listening ear and not passing judgement regardless of the situation you may find folks in IS currency. If there is a problem in your community that you can help to fix, then do just that!
